Minea sat quietly on the branch, her wide eyes blinking innocently as she nibbled on a leaf, acting as though nothing had happened. But just moments ago, chaos had erupted in the monkey family. Poor Mako was still sulking nearby, rubbing the sore spot on his tiny arm where Minea had bitten him during their scuffle over a juicy piece of fruit.
Dad turned toward Minea, his eyes narrowing. He had heard the squeals and screeches but arrived just a second too late to catch her in the act. Minea, however, played her part perfectly. She turned her big, round eyes toward Dad, tilting her head as if to say, Who, me?
Mako, still fuming, pointed in Minea’s direction with his tiny hands, letting out a series of frustrated squeals. But Minea doubled down on her performance, sitting primly and grooming herself as if she were the picture of innocence.
Dad wasn’t fooled, though. He slowly approached Minea, his finger pointing sternly. “Minea, don’t think I don’t know what you’ve done!” he seemed to say with his firm expression.
Realizing her act wasn’t working, Minea tried a new strategy. She scrambled over to Dad, wrapping her little arms around his leg and letting out soft, pitiful coos, hoping her affection would distract him.
Meanwhile, Mako let out a frustrated stomp, as if saying, Really, Dad? Are you falling for this again?
Despite Dad’s stern look, Minea’s charm seemed to work. He sighed, gave her a quick pat, and turned to Mako, who was still sulking. Dad gently scooped up Mako, giving him some extra love and attention to soothe his hurt feelings.
Minea watched from her perch, a sly grin tugging at her tiny face. She knew she’d gotten away with it—for now. But deep down, she also knew Dad had his eyes on her. 🐒💥🍌
