The house was calm, morning light streaming through the windows… until Chamroeun decided it wasn’t calm enough.
The little baby monkey was full of energy and attitude. As soon as he woke up, he looked around and realized—Daddy wasn’t in the room. That was all it took.
Chamroeun marched to the middle of the living room, stood up with wobbling baby legs, and let out the loudest, longest scream his little lungs could manage. His mouth opened so wide, you could see every tiny baby tooth inside!
“AAAAHHHHHH!!!”
He wasn’t crying. No, this was a full-on dramatic performance. His eyes were wide, his nose wrinkled, and his arms flailed in the air like he was conducting an orchestra of chaos.
“DAAADDDYYYYY!!!” his screech echoed through the house.
Mom peeked from the kitchen, laughing. “Chamroeun! What’s wrong, baby?”
But Chamroeun didn’t want mom. He stomped his little feet and yelled again, teeth on full display. “AAAHHH! DAAAD!!”
Finally, Daddy came running from the bathroom, towel still on his head. “Chamroeun, what happened?!”
As soon as Chamroeun saw him, he stopped. Silence.
Then, with a dramatic sigh, he ran straight into Daddy’s arms, burying his face into his chest like nothing ever happened.
“Ohhh,” Daddy laughed, “You just missed me, huh?”
Chamroeun gave a little whimper, then nuzzled closer, clearly satisfied that Daddy had finally listened to his royal call.
Later, he sat on Daddy’s lap, sipping warm milk, calm as ever.
But everyone in the house knew…
When Chamroeun wants Daddy—he doesn’t ask twice. He screams once. Loud. With teeth.
