The sky was cloudy, and the ground was still wet from the morning rain. Baby monkey Lion had been playing near a small puddle, his tiny feet splashing in the muddy water. At first, it was fun—until he slipped!
SPLASH!
Lion fell face-first into the thick, sticky mud. His tiny body was completely covered, from his head to his tail. Mud dripped from his fur, and his hands were too slippery to wipe it off. He tried to stand up, but the more he moved, the more he got stuck.
Then, he started to cry.
“Eeeh! Eeeeh!” his little voice echoed through the yard. He wiped his eyes, but his hands were so dirty that mud smeared across his face instead. He was scared and helpless, sitting in the middle of the mess.
Hearing his loud cries, his mom rushed over. Her eyes widened when she saw him.
“Oh, Lion! What did you do?“
She hurried to pick him up, but Lion wiggled and whined, feeling uncomfortable in the cold, wet mud. He clung to his mom’s chest, sobbing while his little body shivered. His mom gently patted his back to calm him.
Without wasting time, she carried him to the water well. She grabbed a small bucket and carefully washed away the mud, rubbing his tiny arms and legs until his soft fur was clean again.
Lion’s cries slowed down as the warm water comforted him. He let out a tired sigh, resting against his mom’s arms. No more playing in the mud for today!
Poor little Lion! He had learned his lesson—mud wasn’t as fun as he thought! 🐵❤️
