Libby’s Tough Choice

Comments Off on Libby’s Tough Choice

The morning sun cast a warm glow over the quiet forest. Libby, a young mother monkey, held her tiny newborn close to her chest. Her instincts told her to protect her baby at all costs, but something was wrong. The other monkeys in the troop had started acting aggressively toward her and the newborn.

She had seen it happen before—newborns being pushed aside, rejected, and left to fend for themselves. Fear gripped her heart. If she didn’t do something, her baby could be in danger.

In a moment of desperation, Libby made a heartbreaking decision. She gently placed her baby down on a soft patch of grass and took a few steps back. Her little one squeaked in confusion, reaching out for her. Libby hesitated, her heart aching, but then she turned and ran.

Nearby, a kind-hearted man had been watching. He had been observing Libby for days, noticing her struggles. Seeing her leave her baby behind, he hurried over, carefully picking up the tiny monkey. The newborn trembled in his hands, eyes searching for its mother.

Libby watched from a distance, hidden in the trees. She wanted to rush back, but she knew this was the best chance for her baby to survive. The man wrapped the little monkey in a cloth, whispering softly.

From the shadows, Libby’s eyes glistened with sadness and love. She had not abandoned her baby—she had given it a chance at a better life.
