It was a quiet afternoon when little Jasmine suddenly became extremely upset.

She had been sitting peacefully on a soft mat while Mom prepared some things nearby.

At first, Jasmine simply watched her.

Then she reached both tiny arms toward Mom.

She wanted attention.

She wanted to be held.

But Mom was still busy.

“Just a little moment, sweetheart,” Mom said gently.

Jasmine didn’t want to wait.

Her tiny lips began to tremble.

Then suddenly—

“WAAAAAAH!”

Her loud cry filled the room.

Jasmine dropped onto the soft floor and began kicking her little feet, waving her arms, and shouting with all the emotion her tiny body could manage.

Mom immediately turned around.

“Oh, my poor Jasmine!”

Jasmine’s face was filled with tears.

She looked directly at Mom and cried even louder, as if trying to explain exactly how unhappy she was.

Mom knelt beside her.

“I know you’re upset, sweetheart.”

But Jasmine wasn’t ready to calm down.

She rolled slightly across the soft mat and continued her dramatic tantrum.

Dad came over and gently smiled.

“Someone is having some very big feelings today.”

Jasmine answered with another loud cry.

Mom stayed calm.

She didn’t rush her.

Instead, she sat beside Jasmine and softly rubbed her back.

“You can be angry. Mommy understands. But you’re safe.”

Jasmine’s crying slowly became quieter.

She looked up at Mom through watery eyes.

Mom held out her hand.

Jasmine stared at it for a moment before grabbing her finger.

“There you are,” Mom whispered.

The little monkey gave a tiny sniffle.

Mom gently picked her up and held her against her chest.

Jasmine immediately buried her face into Mom’s shoulder.

Her loud shouting turned into quiet little sobs.

Mom softly rocked her.

“You just wanted Mommy close, didn’t you?”

Jasmine wrapped her tiny arms around Mom and held on tightly.

Dad smiled.

“I think the tantrum was really a request for a cuddle.”

Mom laughed softly.

“Sometimes little ones don’t know how to explain what they need.”

After a few minutes, Jasmine had completely calmed down.

Mom wiped her tears and kissed her forehead.

“Next time, sweetheart, you can reach for Mommy without all that shouting.”

Jasmine gave a tiny happy squeak.

Mom smiled and continued cuddling her.

Soon, Jasmine’s eyelids became heavy.

The emotional tantrum had tired her out.

She rested her little head against Mom’s chest and slowly drifted to sleep.

Mom looked down at her peaceful face.

“Even when you have your biggest tantrums, you’ll always have someone here to help you through them.”

And in the warmth of Mom’s loving arms, little Jasmine finally felt safe, comforted, and completely at peace.
