Poor Titas Screams Loudly Because Mommy Won’t Cuddle Him

Little Titas woke up that morning wanting one thing more than anything else in the world: Mommy’s warm cuddle.
The tiny baby monkey opened his sleepy eyes and looked around. When he spotted Mommy nearby, his face immediately brightened. He stretched out both little arms toward her, making soft sounds to let her know he wanted to be close.
“Mommy! Pick me up!”
Of course, Titas couldn’t say those words, but his little movements made his wishes clear. He wanted Mommy to hold him, stroke his back, and give him all the attention he had been waiting for.
Unfortunately, Mommy was busy taking care of a few things.
She glanced at Titas and spoke gently. “Wait a little, sweetheart. Mommy is right here.”
But Titas was not happy with that answer!
His little face suddenly changed. He pulled his mouth into a dramatic pout, waved his hands, and let out a loud scream.
“Eeeee! Eeeee!”
He looked toward Mommy, hoping she would immediately stop everything and come cuddle him. When she continued with her task for another moment, Titas became even more upset.
He screamed louder, wriggled on his soft blanket, and stretched his arms toward her again.
Mommy turned around and saw his tearful little face.
“Oh, my goodness, Titas! You’re really asking for Mommy today!”
Titas answered with another loud cry.
Mommy understood that he wanted comfort, but she also wanted to make sure he was safe and comfortable. She checked his blanket, watched his movements, and made sure nothing else seemed to be bothering him.
Then she sat down beside him.
“I’m here, my little sweetheart.”
Titas immediately turned toward her. His cries became quieter as he watched her face. Mommy spoke in a soothing voice and offered her hand for him to reach toward.
The little monkey leaned closer, still making occasional unhappy sounds. He wasn’t ready to forget his complaint just yet!
Mommy smiled gently.
“You really wanted a cuddle, didn’t you?”
When Titas reached toward her, Mommy carefully picked him up, supporting his little body securely. She held him close and gently stroked his back.
At last, Titas got the comfort he had been asking for.
He tucked his tiny face against Mommy and clung to her. His loud screams slowly changed into quiet little murmurs. The tension disappeared from his body, and his eyes became softer.
Mommy stayed with him for a while, giving him time to settle.
“There you go, my little boy. You don’t have to scream so loudly for me to care about you.”
Titas rested against her, looking much happier now. Every few moments, he lifted his head to check that Mommy was still there. Each time she smiled at him, he relaxed again.
After their cuddle, Mommy placed him in a safe, comfortable resting area and stayed nearby. Titas watched her calmly, no longer shouting or waving his hands in frustration.
Mommy knew that a baby monkey’s cries could mean many things, including fear, hunger, discomfort, or a desire for reassurance. She would always pay attention to his signals and make sure his needs were met.
That morning, Titas learned nothing about waiting patiently—but he did receive something important: gentle attention and reassurance when he needed comfort.
And Mommy learned once again that even the tiniest baby can have enormous feelings.
Sometimes, a little one doesn’t need a big solution. He just needs someone to notice his distress, understand what he may be asking for, and respond with patience and care.
