Little Tourtour had been waiting for Mom for quite a long time. Sitting quietly on the table, the naughty little kid who usually liked to play and make trouble suddenly looked very different today.
At first, Tourtour tried to stay energetic.
He looked toward the door again and again, hoping Mom would appear soon. But the room stayed quiet, and Mom still hadn’t come back yet.
Slowly, the long wait began to make him tired.
Tourtour’s eyes started to blink slowly. His once playful face turned into a very sleepy and funny expression. His eyelids drooped halfway down, and his mouth hung slightly open.
He looked almost like he was about to fall asleep sitting up.
Even though he had been acting like a naughty kid earlier, now he looked completely exhausted. His small head began to tilt forward, then jerk back up again as he struggled to stay awake.
Every few seconds, Tourtour rubbed his eyes with his tiny hands.
His sleepy face looked so silly and adorable that anyone watching might laugh. The energetic troublemaker had turned into a quiet, drowsy baby.
Finally, he leaned forward and rested his chin on the table while still waiting.
Just as his eyes were about to close completely, footsteps could be heard nearby.
Mom was finally coming back.
The moment Tourtour saw her, his sleepy face brightened a little. Even though he was still tired, he felt happy knowing he didn’t have to wait anymore.
Sometimes even the naughtiest little kids become calm and sleepy after waiting too long for Mom.
