Lambo Monkey and Bi Monkey were the best of friends most of the time—but when a bright, juicy dragon fruit appeared on the table, all friendship was quickly forgotten. The pink-skinned treasure sat there glowing like a jewel, and both monkeys’ eyes widened the instant they saw it.
Lambo was quicker. He darted forward, snatched the dragon fruit with his little hands, and let out a triumphant squeak. But Bi was not about to give up so easily. With a sharp cry, Bi leaped across the floor, grabbing the other side of the fruit. Suddenly, the two monkeys were locked in a tug-of-war.
The fruit wobbled dangerously, bright red juice beginning to stain their fingers. Lambo screeched, pulling with all his might, while Bi shouted back even louder, his little teeth bared in determination. The sound of their quarrel filled the room, and neither seemed ready to let go.
Finally, with one strong pull, the dragon fruit split in half! The two monkeys tumbled backward, each holding a piece. For a moment, there was silence—then both looked at their halves, wide-eyed, and began to eat furiously. The fight had vanished as quickly as it started, replaced by slurping sounds and sticky red juice smeared across their tiny faces.
Their caretaker, watching the whole scene, couldn’t help but laugh. Despite their squabbles, Lambo and Bi were still two little babies learning how to share in their own messy way.
By the end, the dragon fruit was gone, and the monkeys, tired from their battle, leaned against each other with juice-stained smiles. Even fights, it seemed, couldn’t break their bond.
