Baby monkey Lika was small, delicate, and sensitive to everything around her. Bath time was supposed to be simple, but for Lika, it was a challenge. The moment she felt the slightest chill of cool water, her tiny body shivered, and her face scrunched up in distress. Her cries burst out almost immediately, sharp and pitiful, echoing through the room.
She clutched the edge of the basin with her little fingers, refusing to sit in the water. Her tail flicked in nervous jerks, and her wide eyes seemed to plead, “Please, don’t make me do this.” Every attempt to lower her gently into the basin only brought louder cries and trembling.
Her caretaker quickly realized that Lika’s tiny body wasn’t ready for the cold. She needed warmth, something close to the comfort she once felt nestled against her mother. So, with extra care, the water was warmed to just the right temperature. Steam rose lightly from the basin, and the air filled with the promise of comfort.
The change was instant. As soon as Lika felt the warm water touch her skin, her cries softened. Her little body relaxed, her hands unclenched, and her breathing slowed. The warmth wrapped around her like a gentle hug, soothing her fears. Slowly, she allowed herself to sink into the bath, leaning into the caretaker’s steady hand for reassurance.
Instead of screams, little coos and soft whimpers escaped her mouth. Her fur began to shine as the dirt was washed away, and her eyes closed halfway as if she was drifting into peace. For Lika, warm water wasn’t just a bath—it was safety, comfort, and love.
