HiuHiu was just a tiny baby when tragedy struck. His mother disappeared one stormy night, leaving the newborn monkey all alone near a cluster of thick vines deep in the forest. He was wet, cold, and terrified. His little cries echoed through the trees, barely loud enough to call for help — but someone was listening.
A kind-hearted man, known locally for rescuing injured and orphaned animals, was passing by when he heard the faint whimper. Following the sound, he discovered HiuHiu clinging to a low branch, his eyes wide with fear. The man gently scooped him up, wrapped him in a warm cloth, and whispered soothing words as HiuHiu trembled in his arms.
Back at the man’s home, a quiet space had already been prepared — just in case. HiuHiu was cleaned, fed drop by drop with warm milk, and placed in a cozy bed layered with soft towels. The first few nights were hard. HiuHiu cried for his mother and refused to eat much. But slowly, the warmth of his new dad’s care began to ease the sadness in his tiny heart.
Now, HiuHiu is learning to trust, to play, and even to cuddle. His favorite moment of the day is when he gets to sit on his new dad’s shoulder, exploring the world together. He holds tightly onto his bottle when he drinks, and he lets out little chirps of happiness when his caregiver is near.
