Little Pavpav was enjoying his peaceful afternoon, hopping around the yard and playing near the bushes, when suddenly—he froze.
His eyes widened, and his tail shot straight up. Pavpav sat down quickly, then stood right back up, twisting his tiny body and glancing down toward his private area, clearly confused and alarmed.
Then came the crying.
The poor baby started fussing loudly, scratching awkwardly while hopping in circles. His little hands went between his legs, his face full of panic. Something wasn’t right.
A nearby caregiver rushed over. Pavpav was pointing and whining, showing clear signs of discomfort. That’s when they noticed—a few tiny red ants were crawling near the grassy patch he had just been sitting on.
“Oh, Pavpav,” the caregiver whispered with sympathy, gently inspecting him. Sure enough, a small red bump was visible where one of the ants had likely bitten him.
It must have stung, especially in such a sensitive spot.
The team moved fast. One caregiver distracted him with a soft towel and a cuddle, while another used a soothing cream to ease the irritation. Pavpav cried for a moment longer, then slowly began to calm down in their arms, sniffing and clinging tightly.
Though the bite was small, the panic it caused in such a delicate area was huge for the baby monkey.
After a little rest and some soft banana treats, Pavpav felt better. But he stayed away from that bushy patch for the rest of the day.
Even the bravest monkeys can be caught off guard by tiny enemies like ants—and when it hits a personal spot, it’s a lesson they never forget!
