Little Amanda, the tiny orphan monkey, had finally found a bit of peace among her new friends, Ashley and Tom. Ashley, being gentle and caring, had taken Amanda under her wing and always made sure she felt safe. But Tom, full of energy and jealousy, didn’t like sharing Ashley’s attention.
One sunny morning in the jungle sanctuary, Amanda was happily resting in Ashley’s lap on a tree branch, enjoying the cool breeze. Suddenly, Tom came bouncing over. His eyes were locked on Amanda, and he didn’t like what he saw — his favorite friend Ashley giving all her love to someone else.
Without thinking, Tom leaped toward the branch and tried to pull Amanda away. Ashley squeaked in surprise and held on, but Tom tugged harder. In the struggle, Amanda lost her balance and tumbled down from the high branch.
The fall wasn’t too far, but enough to shake everyone. Amanda landed with a soft thud on a pile of leaves and lay still, shocked and frightened. The other monkeys rushed over. Ashley climbed down in a panic, wrapping her arms around Amanda protectively, checking if she was hurt.
Tom stood above, looking down with wide eyes — not out of mischief now, but guilt. He hadn’t meant for Amanda to fall, only to grab some attention for himself.
Caretakers arrived quickly, gently checking Amanda. Luckily, she had no serious injury, just a bruise and a heart full of fear. Tom slowly climbed down and sat beside her, silently reaching out his tiny hand. Amanda looked at him, unsure, but Ashley nodded gently.
Tom’s small gesture of regret brought a fragile peace. In that quiet moment, a lesson was learned — that love isn’t something to steal. It’s something to share.
