Early in the morning, little Gabriel, the newborn baby monkey, was curled up in his mother’s warm embrace. He had just woken up from his nap, stretching his tiny hands and yawning with his soft pink mouth. But suddenly— BAM! —a loud rustling sound came from the nearby bushes.
Gabriel’s tiny eyes widened in shock. His face scrunched up, his mouth dropped open, and his little arms clung tightly to his mother’s fur. His whole body trembled as if he had just seen a ghost!
His mom, completely calm, looked at him and giggled. “Oh, Gabriel, what happened, my baby?” she cooed, rubbing his tiny back.
But Gabriel was frozen, still making his ridiculously scared face. His big round eyes stared ahead, as if he had just seen the end of the world!
A few moments later, a small leaf gently floated down from the tree, landing softly beside him.
That was it. That was the terrifying thing that scared baby Gabriel.
His mother couldn’t help but laugh. “Oh, you little drama king! It was just a leaf, silly boy.”
Hearing his mom’s laughter, Gabriel blinked. He looked at the leaf, then back at his mom, realizing he had overreacted. His face slowly returned to normal, but deep inside, he still felt embarrassed.
Mom kissed his tiny head and held him close. “Don’t worry, my baby. You’re safe with me.”
Gabriel sighed, snuggled into his mom’s arms, and fell back asleep—this time, dreaming of being the bravest monkey ever.
But little did he know, another leaf would fall soon… and his funny scared face would return again! 🤣
