It was a peaceful afternoon in the jungle café, where all the monkeys gathered for snacks and fresh coconut water. I sat at a small table with baby Luna, carefully holding her bottle, ready to give her a drink.
Just as Luna reached for it, I felt something… strange. A chill ran down my spine.
I turned my head slowly—
And there she was.
Starla.
She was staring at me from across the café, her face frozen in an eerie expression. Her eyes were wide, unblinking. Her mouth was slightly open, as if she had just seen something shocking.
I gulped. Why is she looking at me like that?
I tried to ignore it and gently placed the bottle in Luna’s tiny hands. She happily sipped, kicking her little feet.
But Starla’s face? It didn’t change.
In fact… she leaned forward.
Then… she took a step closer.
My heart pounded. Was something wrong? Had I done something?
Finally, I couldn’t take it anymore. “Uh… Starla? Are you okay?”
She blinked, snapping out of her trance. “Oh! Sorry!” She giggled. “I wasn’t trying to be creepy! I just forgot my schedule and thought I was supposed to give Luna a drink today!”
I let out a deep breath. “Oh, Starla, you scared me!”
She laughed, shaking her head. “Oops! My bad. But hey, since you already gave her a drink, let’s go get some banana smoothies!”
And just like that, the scary moment turned into a fun afternoon. But one thing was for sure—I would never forget Starla’s scary face staring at me ever again!
