It was another typical morning with baby monkey Harry, whose mood swings had earned him the reputation of being the house’s drama king. Today, his mom decided it was time for him to sit down and eat his breakfast. But Harry had other plans.

As soon as his mom tried to place him on the small chair, Harry’s face twisted into a pout. Before she could even move away, he let out an ear-splitting cry that echoed through the house. His tiny arms flailed in the air, and his tail whipped back and forth in protest.

“No, Harry, it’s time to sit and eat,” his mom said calmly, but Harry wasn’t interested in calm reasoning. His cries turned into full-blown screams, and his body began to shake with frustration.

In the blink of an eye, he slid off the chair and plopped onto the ground. Kicking his legs wildly, he threw himself backward in what could only be described as a dramatic tantrum performance. He looked up at his mom with teary, pleading eyes, as if to say, How could you do this to me?

His mom sighed, watching his little outburst with a mix of amusement and exasperation. “Harry, you’re being such a moody little brat today,” she said, kneeling beside him.

Harry continued to cry, slapping the floor with his tiny hands, but as soon as his mom scooped him up, his tears magically disappeared. He clung to her tightly, burying his face in her neck with soft, hiccuping breaths.

“You just love being spoiled, don’t you?” she teased, rubbing his back.

Harry sniffled but stayed silent, content now that he had his mom’s attention. For this tantrum-prone boy, being held was all he ever really wanted.
