Little Donal was having a perfectly normal morning—until he suddenly realized that Mommy was nowhere beside him.

His eyes immediately widened.

“Mommy? Mommy!”

Donal hurried around the room, looking behind the blanket, beside the little basket, and near the doorway. But Mommy was still busy outside washing clothes, and she didn’t hear his first few cries.

Donal’s lower lip trembled.

Then he began crying loudly.

“Mooooommy!”

His tiny voice echoed through the house. He sat down on the soft mat, looking around with watery eyes. Every few seconds, he stood up and hurried toward the doorway, hoping to see her.

But Mommy was still washing clothes.

Donal became even more upset. He didn’t understand that she was only a short distance away. To him, it felt like Mommy had disappeared forever.

He cried harder and reached toward the doorway.

“Mommy! Come here!”

Finally, Mommy heard him.

She quickly stopped what she was doing, rinsed her hands, and came to check on him. The moment Donal saw her, he stretched both arms toward her.

His crying became even louder.

Mommy gently picked him up and held him close.

“Oh, Donal… Mommy is here,” she whispered.

Donal buried his little face against her shoulder. His tears slowly soaked into her clothes as he clung tightly to her.

Mommy softly rubbed his back.

“I didn’t leave you, sweetheart. I was just washing the clothes.”

Donal seemed to listen carefully, but he still refused to let go.

Every time Mommy tried to put him down, his tiny arms tightened around her.

Mommy smiled and gave him a gentle cuddle for a little while longer. She made sure Donal stayed in a safe, comfortable place where he could see her while she finished her chores.

That made a huge difference.

Donal sat on his soft blanket, watching Mommy move back and forth with the laundry. Whenever she looked at him, she smiled and called his name.

“I’m right here, Donal.”

Slowly, his worried expression disappeared.

His little eyes became bright again.

Soon, Donal began playing with his blanket while Mommy continued washing clothes nearby. Every few moments, he looked up to make sure she was still there.

And every time, Mommy smiled.

By the time the laundry was finished, Donal was calm again.

Mommy sat beside him and gave him one last warm cuddle.

Donal rested his head against her and sighed peacefully.

For such a tiny monkey, losing sight of Mommy for a few minutes had felt like the biggest problem in the world.

But now he knew something important:

Mommy might get busy, but she always comes back.
