The morning sunlight filtered gently through the curtains as baby monkey Koko lay curled up in his cozy blanket. His tiny foot, wrapped in a soft bandage, showed the care he had been receiving from his devoted mom. Koko had been struggling with an injured toe, and the vet had recommended surgery in two days to ensure proper healing.
Mom entered the room carrying a small spoonful of medicine, her face a mix of concern and encouragement. “Come on, Koko, just a little sip,” she said softly, kneeling beside him. Koko, however, wasn’t keen on the idea. His face scrunched up, and he turned his head away, letting out a tiny, pitiful whimper.
“Sweetheart, this will help you get better,” Mom coaxed, her voice filled with patience. She gently held him, stroking his fur to calm his nerves. After a few moments of hesitation, Koko reluctantly opened his mouth, allowing her to give him the medicine.
“Good boy!” Mom praised, kissing his forehead as he made a face at the bitter taste. To cheer him up, she offered him a small slice of his favorite fruit. Koko nibbled on it, his mood lifting slightly as he enjoyed the sweet treat.
The rest of the day was all about making Koko comfortable. Mom arranged soft pillows around him and brought his favorite toys to keep him entertained. She stayed by his side, occasionally singing soothing lullabies while he rested.
Though Koko didn’t fully understand the situation, he felt safe and loved. His mom’s constant care gave him the strength to face what lay ahead. In two days, he would visit the vet for the next step in his recovery, but for now, Koko was content to rest in his mom’s tender embrace.
