This morning brought concern for little Bibi, the newborn monkey who looked far too tired for her age. Her body felt limp, and her usual playful spirit was nowhere to be found. As Dad prepared her milk, Bibi lay silently, eyes half-open, struggling to lift her head.
When the milk touched her lips, she tried to suckle, but something strange happened—her weak body couldn’t handle it. The milk slowly drained back out through her tiny nose like air slipping from a balloon. It was a heartbreaking sight.
Dad gently wiped her nose, whispering encouragement. He adjusted her position to help her swallow properly. Still, the poor baby could barely drink. Her energy was so low it seemed like even the act of feeding was too much.
This is sometimes the reality with newborn monkeys, especially orphans or the weak—without early strong care, their bodies struggle to do the basics. Bibi had no fever, but her body was exhausted and dehydrated. Dad quickly called for support and brought a heating pad and extra fluid nutrition.
Wrapped in a warm towel, Bibi rested, and Dad held her close. Every few minutes, he tried again with small drops of milk using a syringe, careful not to choke her. Her breathing was shallow but steady, and after a while, her fingers twitched lightly, a small sign of hope.
Though she’s still fragile, Bibi is a fighter. Her body may be weak now, but her spirit holds on. With constant love, warmth, and careful feeding, this little one has a chance to grow strong.
No baby should ever have to struggle like this—but thanks to love, this one won’t struggle alone. ❤️🐒
