After a long day of play, it was time for little Mimi, the tiny baby monkey, to get her evening bath. Her fur was dusty from rolling in the garden, and her face still had bits of banana stuck from her snack. Mom gently scooped her up and placed her into the small plastic basin filled with cool water.
At first, Mimi didn’t mind. She curiously splashed with her fingers, blinking as the droplets touched her face. But the water felt colder than usual tonight. Within seconds, her body stiffened, and a soft whimper escaped her lips.
Then came the tears.
Mimi began crying loudly, her little arms flailing as she tried to climb out of the basin. Her mom quickly reached for a towel, lifting her out and wrapping her up in the soft fabric. But Mimi wouldn’t stop crying. Her tiny teeth chattered, her eyes wide with confusion and discomfort. She buried her face in Mom’s chest, clinging tightly.
Mom rocked her gently, whispering softly and rubbing her back to warm her up. Slowly, Mimi began to settle, her cries fading into little sobs and sniffs. Her tail curled tightly around Mom’s arm as she found comfort again in the warmth she knew best.
After a little warm milk and snuggles in a blanket, Mimi’s eyes finally closed. Her shivering stopped, and her chest rose in peaceful sleep.
This little moment reminds us that even the smallest hearts feel big emotions—and sometimes, all they need is a warm cuddle and someone who truly cares.
