It was a quiet afternoon, but little Alan, the baby monkey, couldn’t stop trembling. His big eyes were filled with worry, and his soft cries echoed faintly through the house. Something had scared him—maybe a loud noise, maybe a sudden movement. But one thing was clear: he didn’t want to be alone.
Alan wandered around the room nervously, his tiny feet unsure on the cold floor. That’s when he spotted Kiki, the family’s gentle dog, lying calmly near the kitchen door. Kiki looked up and wagged her tail slowly, sensing Alan’s distress.
Without hesitation, Alan ran to her.
Tears still on his cheeks, he wrapped his little arms around Kiki’s warm fur. His head pressed against her side, seeking safety in her steady heartbeat. Kiki didn’t move much—she just rested her chin gently beside him, her calm presence saying, “It’s okay, I’m here.”
Alan’s cries softened.
His breathing slowed.
With every passing second, his fear melted just a little. The tight grip of anxiety slowly turned into a soft cuddle. For a tiny monkey in a big world, Kiki was his protector.
Mom peeked in a moment later and saw the tender scene—Alan holding Kiki like a stuffed toy, finally starting to calm down. Her heart melted. Instead of interrupting, she quietly walked away to grab a bottle of warm milk.
By the time she returned, Alan had stopped crying. He looked up, still hugging Kiki, and gave the tiniest smile.
