Big girl Lucky sat on the soft mat, her long fluffy hair glowing in the morning light. She had just finished her banana snack and was feeling quite content—until Mom appeared, holding something in her hand.
A comb.
As soon as Lucky saw it, her eyes grew wide, and her relaxed body stiffened. “No no no!” her little mind shouted, and she froze like a statue.
Mom gently sat behind her and touched her fur with the comb’s teeth. That’s when it began—Lucky’s terrifying reaction.
She screamed out loud, her body jumping up in panic. She twisted and turned, trying to escape the invisible monster tugging her hair. Her eyes filled with tears as she clutched her head and tried to crawl away.
Mom, calm but firm, held her gently. “It’s okay, Lucky,” she whispered. But Lucky wasn’t convinced. She let out another loud cry, one that echoed through the house, making even the birds stop chirping outside.
She didn’t understand that the comb wasn’t there to hurt—it was there to help.
After a few minutes of struggle, Mom pulled her into a big cuddle. Lucky sobbed quietly, hiding her face in Mom’s chest. Her hair was now wild and messy—but her heart was calming down.
Mom gave her a small toy to hold and slowly began brushing again, this time with Lucky distracted and snuggled close. No more pulling, no more fear.
By the end, Lucky had the nicest, fluffiest hair, and a quiet smile returned to her face.
Sometimes, even the strongest girls get scared… but with love, patience, and a gentle touch, fear always melts away.
