Jolie’s Rainy Tears

Comments Off on Jolie’s Rainy Tears

Dark clouds rolled over the sky, and the soft patter of rain turned into steady drops falling on the garden floor. Under a low branch, baby monkey Jolie sat soaking wet, her tiny arms folded across her chest, eyes wide and angry.

She had been left behind.

Just moments ago, her mother had gently placed her on the ground and climbed up a nearby tree to find shelter. It wasn’t far, but for Jolie, it felt like abandonment. The rain was cold, the sky loud, and her soft fur quickly turned damp and heavy.

Jolie shivered. Her face scrunched in frustration. Then, with a high-pitched cry, she screamed up toward the trees.

“EEEHHH!! MmmMMM!!”

She stomped her little feet in the mud and slapped her hands against the wet leaves beside her. Her emotions were too big for her tiny body — anger, confusion, and sadness all mixed together.

Where was Mom now?

Finally, through the curtains of rain, her mother appeared. She swung down, grabbed Jolie gently, and pulled her close to her chest. Jolie resisted at first — her pride was bruised. She let out a few more angry whines, turning her head away in protest.

But Mom didn’t rush. She held her tighter, using her own body to warm her baby.

After a moment, Jolie’s breathing slowed. Her trembling faded. Her little hands reached up to touch her mother’s fur.

She wasn’t happy yet — not fully — but she was safe.

The storm still poured around them, but inside her mother’s arms, Jolie finally let out a sigh, snuggling in close.

Sometimes even the smallest monkeys have big emotions. And sometimes… all it takes is love to calm the storm inside.
