Lonely LaLa Cries Softly, Wishing for Someone to Play

In a cozy house full of laughter and little monkey feet, baby monkey LaLa sat quietly in the corner. She wasn’t usually sad. In fact, she was one of the happiest, most playful babies in the family. But today felt different.

The room was filled with gentle morning light, but LaLa’s eyes were dim. Her siblings were playing with toys nearby, and her human mom was busy folding laundry. No one seemed to notice the tiny monkey sitting all alone, her little arms wrapped around her knees.

A soft whimper came from her lips.

“Ehh… eehh…”

She looked around hopefully, but no one came. Her bottom lip quivered. She picked up her plush banana toy and gave it a squeeze, but it wasn’t the same as being hugged. Her heart felt too heavy for such a tiny body.

Tears began to slide down her fuzzy cheeks.

Then—footsteps. Her human mom looked up, hearing the soft cry. She dropped the towel in her hand and rushed over.

“LaLa? What’s wrong, baby?” she asked gently.

The moment Mom scooped her up, LaLa wrapped her arms around her neck, burying her face in the warm embrace. Her body stopped trembling. Her tail curled tightly around her caregiver’s arm as she let out a deep, relieved sigh.

“You were just lonely, weren’t you?” Mom whispered, rocking her slowly.

LaLa didn’t say a word, but her sniffling stopped. Her world, which felt so empty just minutes ago, was full again—with love, warmth, and the soft rhythm of a heartbeat close to her ear.

Sometimes, baby monkeys don’t need toys or treats. They just need to feel loved.

And in that moment, LaLa knew she was.

Always.

Forever. 🐒❤️🫂
