It was a warm afternoon in the jungle, and Mama Monkey was busy gathering fruits for her little ones. Monkey Kaka and Monkey Mit, her two playful children, were supposed to be napping, but Kaka had other plans.
Kaka, ever the mischievous one, decided it was the perfect time for a prank. While Mit was snoozing under a shady tree, Kaka gently tugged on his tail to wake him up. “Mit, come with me! I have something fun to show you,” Kaka whispered.
Groggy but curious, Mit followed his older brother to a hollowed-out log not far from their home. “You’ll fit perfectly in here, Mit!” Kaka said with a grin. Before Mit could protest, Kaka gently nudged him into the log, leaving only his little face peeking out. “Stay here and don’t make a sound. It’s part of the game!”
Kaka scampered off, giggling to himself, as Mit quietly waited, unsure of what was happening.
Meanwhile, Mama Monkey returned with a bundle of fruits, expecting to see both her children. “Kaka? Mit?” she called out, looking around. Kaka appeared casually, munching on a banana. “Where’s Mit?” Mama asked, her tone growing concerned.
“I… I don’t know,” Kaka replied, feigning innocence. But his mischievous grin gave him away.
Mama Monkey’s worry grew as she searched high and low. “Mit! Mit! Where are you?” she called, her voice echoing through the trees. Kaka started to feel a pang of guilt watching his mom frantically search.
Finally, Mama’s sharp eyes spotted a pair of tiny ears poking out of the hollow log. “Mit!” she cried, rushing over to pull him out. Mit looked up at her with wide, innocent eyes.
“Kaka!” Mama turned to his older brother, her hands on her hips. “Did you hide your brother?”
Kaka hung his head, his tail twitching nervously. “I was just playing a game, Mama. I didn’t mean to worry you.”
Mama sighed, pulling both her children close. “Kaka, it’s okay to play, but you must always keep Mit safe. You gave me such a fright!”
“I’m sorry, Mama,” Kaka said sincerely. He turned to Mit and added, “I’m sorry, Mit. Next time, I’ll play a game that’s more fun for both of us.”
The three monkeys shared a hug, and Mama reminded them of the importance of sticking together. As the day ended, Kaka promised to be more careful, and Mit forgave him with a cheeky tug on his tail.
The jungle settled into peace again, with the two brothers playing a game under Mama’s watchful eye—this time, no hiding involved.
