The morning started peacefully, sunlight pouring through the window and warming the colorful play mat where baby LeDuc sat. His toys — a tiny ball, a soft rattle, and a cuddly bear — were scattered around him, waiting for him to play. But LeDuc wasn’t in the mood. His mom had gently placed him on the mat, hoping he’d entertain himself for a while, but the little one had other plans.
At first, he sat quietly, eyes darting around the room, hoping Mom would come back quickly. When she didn’t, his face began to wrinkle with frustration. A small whimper escaped his lips, followed by another, longer one. Within seconds, those soft whimpers turned into loud, tearful cries that echoed through the room.
He threw his tiny arms up, kicking his feet, his whole body shaking with emotion. “Waaa! Waaa!” he cried, voice cracking as if his heart were breaking. The toys around him didn’t matter anymore — all he wanted was his mom’s arms. He kept glancing toward the door, hoping she’d appear.
Mom peeked in, watching with a loving smile. “LeDuc, baby, Mommy’s here,” she said softly, but he was too upset to listen. His cries grew even louder, demanding attention. Finally, she walked over, kneeling beside him. “Oh, my little prince, you don’t want to play alone?” she whispered, gently picking him up.
Instantly, the crying stopped. LeDuc buried his tiny face into her chest, hiccuping softly, still catching his breath. Mom stroked his back and smiled, whispering, “You just needed Mommy, huh?”
As he calmed down, she rocked him gently, humming a soft tune. His eyes began to close, his tantrum fading away into sleepy peace. In that quiet moment, love won again — warm, gentle, and unbreakable.
