Early in the quiet morning, the sound of rippling water mixed with a faint, trembling cry. Beneath the shade of tall grass near the lakeside, a tiny newborn monkey lay motionless—cold, weak, and alone. His fur was damp from the mist, his body trembling with hunger and fear.
No mother was around. Only the soft breeze carried his faint cries, “Eee… eee…” so small it could break any heart. The poor baby’s umbilical cord was still fresh, his eyes not yet open. It was clear—he had just entered the world, only to be left behind.
A passerby heard the tiny sound and rushed closer. The moment they saw him, lying helpless on the muddy ground, they felt a deep ache inside. “Oh, little one…” they whispered, gently wrapping him in a small towel. His body was ice cold, his breathing shallow.
They hurried him to safety, warming him with their hands, whispering soothing words as if to replace the voice of the mother he had lost. Bit by bit, the baby’s soft cries grew louder, as if he was realizing—someone cared.
A small bottle of milk was prepared. When the first drop touched his lips, he suckled weakly, then stronger, his tiny fingers curling around the rescuer’s hand. The warmth of life slowly returned to him.
That day, beside the calm lake, hope was born again. The little monkey who had been abandoned found love, safety, and a new chance to live.
Though his beginning was filled with pain, his eyes—when they finally opened—reflected something bright: trust. He was no longer alone.
