It was a quiet morning until the sound of tiny footsteps pattered across the floor. Lyka and Lito had been exploring the living room when they noticed Mom busy in the kitchen. The smell of fresh fruit and warm bread filled the air, instantly pulling their curiosity toward her.
Lyka, the calmer of the two, happily walked over and sat down near Mom’s feet, watching her prepare food with big, curious eyes. But Lito had something else in mind — he didn’t want to just watch; he wanted Mom’s full attention.
The moment Mom glanced down and gave Lyka a smile, Lito’s little face twisted into a pout. His tail flicked with irritation, and he let out a sharp squeak. When Mom didn’t immediately respond, he stomped his tiny feet, his little voice rising louder. Lyka tilted her head, confused, but Lito was already working himself into a full tantrum.
He reached out, tugging at Mom’s leg, and when she gently told him to wait, he plopped down on the floor and cried dramatically, as if the world had ended. His little hands covered his face, but every few seconds he peeked through his fingers to see if Mom was watching.
Mom finally put down her work, kneeling beside Lito. With one arm, she scooped him up while her other hand stroked Lyka’s fur, trying to balance both little monkeys’ feelings. Lito quickly calmed down once he was nestled against her, a cheeky smile replacing his tears.
Lyka sighed softly, shaking her head as if saying, “That’s just Lito being Lito.” The kitchen was peaceful again — at least until the next playful drama began.
