Royston Won’t Sleep Cries for Mom’s Love

Little Royston had been through more than any newborn should. After being abandoned shortly after birth, he was rescued and taken into care — but the ache in his tiny heart remained. That night, while the caregiver KT tried to rest, Royston couldn’t settle down. He cried nonstop, his little arms reaching into the empty space beside him, searching for the warmth of a mother who was no longer there.

His cries weren’t just for milk — they were full of longing. KT gently picked him up and held him close, rocking him softly, whispering words of comfort. But Royston clung tightly, refusing to let go. Every time KT tried to lay him down, the crying returned louder, more desperate. It was a heartbreaking sight: a tiny baby monkey, with no idea why his world had changed, needing love and security more than anything else.

KT stayed up all night, gently humming and letting Royston rest on their chest. The warmth and steady heartbeat calmed him, little by little. His sobs slowed, turning into tiny whimpers, until finally he drifted off into a peaceful sleep.

Even in his dreams, he held onto KT’s finger tightly, as if to say, “Please don’t leave me again.”

These are the moments that show how deep and real the emotions of baby monkeys are. Royston’s need for comfort wasn’t just physical — it was emotional, spiritual, and deeply instinctual. And while nothing could replace his real mother, that night, KT became the safe place he desperately needed.

Every rescued baby deserves that kind of love.
