Minea Bites Mako Out of Jealousy

Comments Off on Minea Bites Mako Out of Jealousy

Little Mako was just enjoying a peaceful moment near the corner of the play area, nibbling gently on a soft fruit while watching others. The calm didn’t last long—Minea, the mischievous and jealous baby monkey, was nearby with sharp eyes full of mischief. The moment she saw Mama pat Mako’s head affectionately earlier, her jealousy sparked like fire.

Without warning, Minea stomped toward Mako with her face already full of attitude. Tiny Mako, unaware of the storm coming, let out a small chirp—right before Minea lunged and gave him a sharp bite right on his little head. Mako screeched in shock and pain, tumbling sideways and crying loudly.

The caretakers rushed over, separating the two immediately. Mako was shaken and trembling, holding his head while tears rolled down his cheeks. Minea was scolded gently but firmly. Her jealous outburst wasn’t new, but today it had gone too far.

What triggered Minea? It wasn’t the fruit or the space—it was the attention. Minea had watched Mama hug and comfort Mako earlier, and deep down, she wanted that same love. She just didn’t know how to ask for it, so she fought in the only way her little emotions understood.

After the incident, Mako was taken aside, comforted, and cleaned. Thankfully, the bite wasn’t serious, just a small mark of jealousy. Meanwhile, Minea was given quiet time, a soft toy, and eventually—after she calmed down—a warm cuddle from Mama too.

Jealousy is tough, even for baby monkeys. But with gentle teaching and love, Minea will learn there’s enough care to go around. The day ended with Mako napping peacefully, and Minea watching quietly—maybe thinking twice about her next move.
