Chamroeun vs. The Chickens

It was supposed to be a peaceful morning. The sun had just risen, and baby monkey Chamroeun was enjoying his usual spot on the porch swing, clutching a soft toy and swaying gently.

But then… the chickens came.

Five loud, clucking, flapping chickens stormed into the yard, pecking and squawking like they owned the place. They kicked up dust, ran in circles, and started stealing fruit from Chamroeun’s snack bowl!

Chamroeun froze. His big eyes followed the chaos. At first, he looked confused — then his face turned red with rage.

“EEEEEHHHHH!!” he screamed, jumping up with both arms flailing.

The chickens didn’t care. One even flapped her wings right in his face.

That was it.

Chamroeun exploded with emotion. He stomped the ground, slapped the porch rail, and let out a dramatic cry that echoed through the yard. He charged forward on all fours, chasing the chickens with wild energy.

The chickens panicked and scattered, squawking louder than ever. But Chamroeun wasn’t done — he chased them into the bushes, through the flowerbed, and around the tree, shouting the whole way.

His caregiver rushed out, laughing but trying to keep a straight face. “Chamroeun! What happened?!”

The little monkey came back with messy fur, puffed cheeks, and an angry pout. He pointed at the empty fruit bowl like it was a crime scene.

His caregiver scooped him up and hugged him close. “Okay, okay — no more chickens stealing your snacks.”

Still grumpy, Chamroeun crossed his arms and sulked in her lap, eyes narrowed at the flock now hiding in the corner.
