The sun had barely risen in the backyard when a sharp cry pierced the morning air. It was Roki, the playful baby monkey, and today he had gotten himself into serious trouble.

Roki loved to climb everything—trees, furniture, even laundry lines. But this time, his curiosity led him to a tall bamboo fence behind the house. He wanted to peek over and see where the birds disappeared to. With little hands and feet, he climbed higher than ever before.

But as he reached the top, one of his feet slipped between the tight bamboo poles. His leg got stuck, and no matter how he wiggled or pulled, it wouldn’t budge.

That’s when the panic began.

Roki let out a loud, heartbreaking scream.
“EEEH! WAAAH! AAAHHH!”

Tears streamed down his face. His body shook with fear, and his cries echoed through the yard. Other monkeys nearby looked up in alarm, unsure how to help. His little hands clung to the fence while he tried not to fall.

Inside the house, Mom rushed out, her heart pounding as she heard Roki’s desperate calls. She spotted him stuck up high, crying uncontrollably, his small body trembling.

“Oh baby, hold on!” she cried.

With careful hands and a calm voice, she reached him and gently freed his leg from the tight bamboo. As soon as he was safe, Roki clung to her tightly, sobbing into her chest, still shaking from the scare.

Mom rocked him gently. “You’re okay now, sweet boy. You’re safe.”

Roki buried his face in her arms, calming down slowly. He wasn’t hurt—just scared.

From that day on, Roki still climbed, but he always checked with Mom first. And he never went near that bamboo fence again.
