Scared Baby Monkey Climbs Tree to Escape Puppy

It was a bright, sunny afternoon when the family let the puppy, Max, out into the yard to play. His little tail wagged like crazy as he explored the grass, sniffing everything with excitement.

At the same time, baby monkey Lilo was also enjoying her outdoor time, sitting near a flowerpot, munching on a banana slice. But the second she saw Max bounding toward her, barking playfully, her eyes went wide with panic.

She dropped her snack, let out a squeaky shriek, and bolted toward the nearest tree.

Max wasn’t chasing her—he just wanted to say hi—but to Lilo, it felt like danger was coming fast! She scrambled up the tree trunk with all her tiny strength, heart pounding, tail swinging. In seconds, she reached a low branch and clung there, trembling.

From below, Max barked once, then sat down wagging his tail, completely confused. He had no idea he’d just terrified his new monkey friend.

Inside the house, Mom came rushing out. “Lilo! What happened?” she called, spotting her baby high in the tree.

Lilo peeked down, still hugging the branch, and let out a tiny, complaining chirp. She clearly wanted Mom to come get her—but she wasn’t coming down on her own!

Mom scooped Max up and took him inside. Only then did Lilo slowly slide down, still wide-eyed and nervous. Mom held her close and whispered, “He won’t hurt you, sweetheart.”

Lilo clung tightly to Mom, her fur still puffed with fear.

Later, with Max safely napping inside, Lilo sat by the window, cautiously watching the puppy. Maybe tomorrow she’d be braver.
