Baby monkey LaLa usually loved bath time. The warm water, the gentle scrubbing, and the soothing cuddles from mom always made her feel safe. But today… things were very different.
As soon as LaLa was placed in the tub, her eyes widened in shock—there were crabs crawling all around her!
Tiny red and brown crabs, clicking their claws and scuttling across the water, made her heart race. She froze in place, her little arms shaking. One crab came a bit too close, and LaLa jumped, clinging to the edge of the tub with a squeal.
She looked up at her mom with pleading eyes, begging to be taken out. Her tiny face wrinkled in fear, and her tail curled tight against her body. Every little splash from the crabs made her twitch.
Mom tried to calm her, gently rubbing her back and showing that the crabs weren’t going to hurt her. But for LaLa, it was just too much. She’d never seen anything like this before.
The little monkey whimpered, trying to lift her feet away from the crawling creatures. “Eek! Eek!” she cried softly, reaching up to be held. It was clear: LaLa did not approve of crab bath day.
Finally, mom lifted her out and wrapped her in a towel. LaLa clung to her tightly, burying her face in her chest, still trembling a little.
From now on, LaLa might prefer plain warm water—no moving creatures, no surprises—just a peaceful soak with mom by her side.
After all, even the bravest little monkeys have their fears.
