Little Hero is usually a sweet, calm baby monkey who follows his mom everywhere. But today, something flipped inside him—and the entire yard heard it.
It all started when Mom was busy helping another baby and didn’t notice that Hero had fallen behind. He sat on the ground, arms stretched up, eyes locked on his mom. He waited… and waited… but she didn’t turn around.
That’s when the tantrum hit.
Hero let out a loud, heartbreaking cry and threw himself gently onto the soft ground. He kicked his legs, rolled from side to side, and screamed in frustration. His tiny fists pounded the dirt, and tears welled up in his eyes. The other baby monkeys paused and stared—Hero was having a full-blown meltdown.
He wasn’t hurt. He wasn’t hungry. He was simply angry that Mom hadn’t picked him up.
The caregivers noticed and tried to console him, but Hero refused cuddles from anyone else. He only wanted his mom. His little heart couldn’t understand that she was just a few steps away and still loved him deeply.
Finally, Mom heard his cries and turned. The moment she came over and gently lifted him into her arms, Hero clung to her like his world had just been put back together. He sniffled, hiccupped, and tucked his face under her chin.
The tantrum stopped as quickly as it started.
Sometimes, even brave little monkeys like Hero feel overwhelmed. And sometimes, all they really need is a warm hug from the one they love most.
