It was a warm afternoon, and Bella’s human mom was out in the yard, washing clothes by the stream. The sun shone brightly, birds chirped, and water splashed gently as she scrubbed and rinsed. Nearby, baby monkey Bella, her playful pet, sat swinging her tail and watching curiously.
But sitting still wasn’t Bella’s style.
As soon as Mom turned her back, Bella tiptoed closer to the laundry basket. Her big eyes sparkled with mischief. First, she tugged out a shirt. Then a pair of socks. Then—whoosh!—she tossed them in the air like party confetti.
“Bella!” Mom called out, spotting the mess. “That’s your first warning today!”
Bella froze for a second, then gave a sheepish smile. But before long, she was at it again—this time climbing onto the wet clothesline and bouncing like it was a jungle vine. The freshly washed clothes swayed dangerously, one nearly falling into the dirt.
“Bella, I mean it! You’re getting another warning!”
But Bella didn’t stop. With a loud plop, she landed right in the soapy water bucket, splashing it everywhere—including all over Mom’s clean laundry pile.
That was it.
Mom scooped Bella out, dripping and giggling, and sat her down on a dry towel.
“No more monkey business,” she said firmly, wagging her finger. “You sit right here while I finish.”
Bella sulked, her wet fur puffed and her tail drooping. She hadn’t meant to be bad—she was just bored and wanted to play.
After a few quiet minutes, she crawled over and handed Mom a wet sock, looking sorry.
Mom smiled. “Good girl. But next time, help me—not the mess!”
From then on, Bella watched patiently… well, at least until the next laundry day adventure. 🧼🐒💕
