Today was full of surprises—baby monkey Jasmine had her very first meeting with a mysterious new friend: Jiji, the sleek black cat with curious green eyes.
At first, Jasmine stood on all fours, staring at the quiet creature perched on the porch. Her tiny face scrunched in confusion. “What is that?” she seemed to think, tilting her head side to side. Jiji blinked slowly and let out a soft, uninterested meow.
But Jasmine wasn’t shy for long. With playful energy, she bounced forward and reached out to touch Jiji’s tail. Jiji flicked it away gently, looking half amused, half annoyed. Jasmine squeaked and clapped her hands—it was like a game!
Soon it turned into a gentle standoff. Jasmine tried her baby monkey tricks—mini jumps, funny noises, and wild arm flaps—to get a reaction. Jiji, in true cat fashion, stayed calm and cool, only twitching her ears and occasionally swatting the air lazily.
Then came the most hilarious moment: Jasmine tried to mimic Jiji’s walk, arching her back and tiptoeing sideways like a cat. The caretakers watching couldn’t help but laugh at the monkey’s adorable impression. Even Jiji paused, eyes wide—then gave Jasmine a slow blink of approval.
Eventually, Jasmine grew tired and crawled near Jiji. To everyone’s surprise, the cat leaned in and gently touched noses with her. It was a quiet truce.
