Sweet, gentle Baby Cinn had always been the quiet one. With wide eyes and a timid nature, he stayed close to the corners, watching the other monkeys play. But one moment of curiosity led him into the wrong place—too close to an aggressive older monkey.
In a flash, it happened. A growl. A loud slap. Then Cinn’s cry—high, sharp, and filled with pain—ripped through the air. The bigger monkey had lashed out without warning, and tiny Cinn crumpled to the ground, holding his side and shaking uncontrollably.
Caretakers rushed in. The sight of Cinn’s fragile body injured, trembling and whimpering, was heartbreaking. His fur was ruffled, his limbs weak, and the sparkle in his eyes was clouded by pain and fear. He couldn’t even sit up properly.
Gently, they lifted him into a soft blanket and held him close. His tiny hand gripped a finger as if begging not to be left alone again. A vet arrived soon after to examine the injury—it was serious, but he would survive. Still, the emotional scars might take longer to heal than the physical ones.
Now resting in a cozy little basket, Cinn lies quietly, his breathing soft but uneven. He flinches at sudden sounds and avoids eye contact. It will take time, love, and gentle care for him to trust again.
