The morning sun had already crept through the leaves when the little baby monkey finally stirred. While all the other monkeys had been up playing and cuddling, this sleepyhead was still deep in dreamland, curled up under a leafy blanket. But when he finally opened his eyes, a wave of panic washed over him.

His tiny face scrunched up as he looked around—no sign of Mom. His little arms reached out, his lips trembled, and suddenly a loud cry burst out: “Eee-eee!” It echoed through the quiet space, desperate and full of worry.

Where was Mom? Where was the warm bottle of milk she always had ready for him?

The baby monkey scrambled to his feet, wobbling with sleepy legs, and began turning in circles, his big eyes scanning every corner. His cries grew louder—he was both scared and hungry. His belly rumbled, reminding him just how long it had been since his last milk.

Finally, a familiar shadow appeared. Mom came rushing over, carrying the bottle, her face full of love and concern. The moment he saw her, he reached out with both arms, still crying, but now from relief.

She scooped him up gently and kissed the top of his head. “Shhh… Mommy’s here.” He clung to her tightly as she fed him warm milk, calming down with every sip.

Soon, his eyes began to close again, safely snuggled in her arms. All was right in his little world once more
