Little Jasmine lay on the soft grass, her tiny body curled up, her eyes filled with sadness. She had been trying to get her mother’s attention all morning, but Mom seemed too busy with the other monkeys. Jasmine felt left out, forgotten.
Her tiny lips quivered as she let out a weak, heartbreaking cry. “Eeeh… Eeeh…” The sound was soft at first, but as the sadness grew in her heart, her cries became louder. Tears welled up in her big, round eyes as she stared at her mother, silently begging for love.
She stretched out her little hand toward Mom, hoping she would come over and scoop her up. But Mom only glanced at her briefly before returning to her grooming. Jasmine’s heart sank deeper.
Feeling completely alone, she buried her face into the grass, whimpering. The warm sunlight kissed her soft fur, but it didn’t bring her comfort. She just wanted Mom’s warmth, her gentle embrace.
Nearby, an older monkey noticed her distress and walked over to nuzzle her gently. It wasn’t her mother, but the warmth of another’s presence helped soothe her tiny heart.
Just then, Mom finally turned her head, realizing Jasmine had been crying the whole time. She slowly made her way over, nudging her baby with her nose before pulling her into a warm hug.
Jasmine sniffled, her little arms clinging tightly to Mom’s fur. Her sadness slowly melted away as she finally felt safe and loved again
