The morning sun cast golden light over the shelter, but little Titas was far from enjoying it. The tiny baby monkey sat on the cool wooden floor, his eyes darting around frantically. His mom had just walked away to fetch something, leaving him alone for only a few moments. But for Titas, even a second without her felt like an eternity.
At first, he looked around, hoping she would return immediately. When she didn’t, his tiny lips quivered, and then—BAM! The tantrum exploded.
Titas let out a loud, piercing cry, throwing himself onto the floor dramatically. His tiny fists clenched as he kicked his little legs, making sure everyone around knew just how upset he was. His sharp wails echoed through the space, making the other monkeys glance his way.
A few older monkeys watched in amusement, while some younger ones seemed confused about why Titas was making such a big scene. But to him, this was serious—how could his mom just leave him like that?
He rolled onto his back, then onto his side, rubbing his tiny face into the floor as if that would bring her back faster. The more seconds passed, the louder his cries became. His body trembled with frustration, his tail twitching restlessly.
Then, just as suddenly as he started, his cries softened. His big, teary eyes spotted movement—it was Mom! She was coming back!
Titas immediately sat up, sniffling, but still pouting. The moment she reached him, he lunged into her arms, clinging onto her tightly. He buried his face into her fur, as if making sure she would never leave him again.
His mom sighed, gently patting his back. She had only been gone for a minute, but to Titas, it had felt like forever. And even though he had just thrown the biggest tantrum, all was forgiven now—because nothing mattered more than being in Mom’s arms again.
