Little Ricky clung tightly to his mother’s arm, his tiny fingers gripping her fur as if letting go would mean losing her forever. His big, round eyes were filled with worry, darting back and forth as he watched her every move.

He had noticed something unusual that morning. His mother seemed busy, walking around and looking distracted. Every time Ricky tried to cuddle up to her, she gently moved him aside. This made his heart race with fear—was she going to leave him behind?

As the minutes passed, Ricky grew more anxious. His little body trembled, and soon, soft whimpers escaped his lips. His mother turned to look at him but didn’t pick him up. That was enough to send Ricky into a full-blown panic. His whimpers turned into cries, his tiny arms reaching out desperately.

The other baby monkeys watched curiously, but none of them understood what Ricky was feeling. He had always been a little more attached to his mother than the others, always needing her warmth and comfort.

Finally, his mother noticed how distressed he was. She paused, turned back, and scooped him up into her arms. Instantly, Ricky buried his face into her chest, clinging even tighter. She let out a soft, reassuring sound and gently stroked his back.

Ricky’s cries slowly faded into sniffles. His mother wasn’t leaving—she was just busy. He wasn’t alone, and he never would be. Feeling safe again, he closed his eyes and nestled into her warmth, knowing that as long as she was there, everything would be okay.
