
The morning sun shone brightly, casting golden rays over the lush green trees. Baby monkey Tito, however, was not enjoying the beautiful day. His mom had just set him on a tree branch, encouraging him to climb and play like a big boy.
But Tito had other plans—and they did not include climbing! The moment Mom let go of him, he screamed at the top of his lungs.
“AAAAAHH!! NOOO!!” Tito wailed, his tiny hands gripping the branch tightly, refusing to move. His tail flicked angrily, and his little feet kicked against the bark. He turned to his mom, his face scrunched up in fury.
Mom sighed. “Tito, you need to learn to climb. All baby monkeys do!” she said firmly. But Tito wasn’t listening.
Instead, he threw his body backward, still clinging to the branch, his mouth wide open in a full-blown tantrum. “I DON’T WANT TO CLIMB!” he screamed again, his voice echoing through the trees.
Other monkeys stopped and stared. Some even giggled. Tito looked so dramatic! But Mom didn’t give in.
She gently pushed his little bottom upward. “Come on, try it. You’re a strong boy.”
Tito whined and pouted, but he slowly took one shaky step up the branch. Then another. Before he knew it, he was high up on the tree—and surprisingly, it wasn’t so bad!
Mom smiled. “See? You did it!”
