Koy was a little ball of energy. He loved running, climbing, and exploring everything around him. But more than anything, he wanted to ride a bike like the older kids in the neighborhood. Every day, he watched them zoom around, laughing and having fun. He wanted to join them so badly.
One sunny afternoon, Koy’s mom took him outside to play. As soon as he saw a small bike leaning against the fence, his eyes lit up. He ran straight to it and grabbed the handlebars. “Mom! I want to ride!” he shouted excitedly.
But his mom gently shook her head. “No, Koy. You’re still too small. It’s not safe for you yet.”
Koy’s excitement instantly turned into frustration. His tiny hands gripped the bike tightly. “No! I can do it!” he yelled, stomping his little feet. His face turned red with anger, and his eyes filled with tears.
His mom knelt down and tried to calm him. “Sweetheart, I know you want to ride, but you need to wait until you’re bigger. You could fall and get hurt.”
But Koy didn’t want to listen. He threw himself on the ground, kicking and crying louder. “I don’t care! I want to ride NOW!” he wailed.
His mom sighed but stayed patient. She picked him up and hugged him tightly. “How about we practice first? I can help you learn step by step,” she said softly.
Koy sniffled, still upset, but he slowly nodded. “Okay… but only if you promise!”
His mom smiled. “I promise.”
Koy wiped his tears and held her hand. Maybe he couldn’t ride today, but he knew his time would come soon.
