The sun was shining brightly over the river as baby monkey Jessy played near the water’s edge. She loved splashing around, but today, something felt different. Her best friend, baby Garina, was missing.
Jessy’s little heart started to pound. She looked around, scanning the riverbank, but Garina was nowhere to be seen. Then, she spotted something—tiny ripples in the water. Her eyes widened in fear.
Without hesitation, Jessy jumped into the river, her tiny arms paddling as fast as she could. The water was deep, but she was determined. She kicked her legs, moving quickly, her eyes locked on a small figure struggling near some floating leaves.
“Garina!” Jessy squeaked, pushing forward with all her strength. As she got closer, she saw Garina barely keeping her head above the water, her tiny hands reaching out helplessly.
Jessy didn’t think twice. She swam underneath Garina and lifted her onto her back, struggling to keep both of them afloat. With strong, determined strokes, she paddled toward the shore. The water pushed against her, but she kept going.
Finally, they reached the riverbank. Jessy climbed out, panting hard, while Garina coughed and shivered. Jessy gently wrapped her tiny arms around her friend, making soft, comforting sounds.
Just then, a kind human came running over. Seeing the two soaked baby monkeys, she quickly picked up Garina, wrapped her in a warm cloth, and gave Jessy a reassuring pat.
Jessy watched closely as Garina slowly calmed down. Her little body was still shaking, but she was safe. Jessy sighed in relief, knowing she had saved her best friend. No matter what, she would always protect Garina.
