It was a quiet afternoon at home, and little baby monkey Yuri was sitting on a wooden table, her small face scrunched up in frustration. Mom had just walked away to the other side of the room, leaving Yuri to sit by herself.
But Yuri wasn’t happy about being left alone — not one bit. She wanted her mom’s attention right then and there. With her tiny hands clenched into fists, Yuri let out a series of sharp, high-pitched cries. “Eeeek! Eeeek!” she shouted, demanding that Mom come back.
When Mom didn’t immediately return, Yuri’s temper flared even more. In her anger, she stood up on the table, stomping her little feet and wobbling dangerously near the edge. “Eeeek! Come back, Mom!” her shouts seemed to say.
Then it happened. In one misstep, Yuri lost her balance. With a frightened squeal, she tumbled off the table, landing on the soft mat below. Her cries turned from angry to heartbroken as she lay there, stunned and shaken by the unexpected fall.
Mom heard the thud and rushed back immediately. “Yuri! Oh no, are you okay?” she exclaimed, scooping the little monkey into her arms.
Yuri clung tightly to Mom, her tears soaking into the warm fur of her chest. She sniffled and whimpered pitifully, still upset but now more scared than angry.
Mom gently patted her back and checked for any injuries. “You’re okay, my little one,” she cooed softly. “Mommy’s here now.”
Yuri’s sobs gradually quieted as she nestled safely in Mom’s embrace. Despite the fall, all Yuri really wanted was her mom’s love — and now that she had it, everything felt a little better.
