Baby Leo’s tiny body trembled as he clung tightly to the edge of the pool. His wide, frightened eyes darted around, searching for reassurance from his mom, Libby, who stood nearby. Today was supposed to be a big milestone—a day of learning, exploring, and building confidence in the water. But it was quickly turning into a scene filled with tension and heartache.
Libby, ever the protective and determined mother, gently nudged Leo forward with her hand, encouraging him to paddle just a bit farther. “You can do it, Leo!” she seemed to say with her soft chirps. But Leo wasn’t so sure. The water was deep, and every small movement sent ripples that made him feel unsteady.
At one point, Libby gave him an extra push to coax him into the middle of the pool. That’s when it happened. Little Leo panicked. His small hands flailed, and his squeaky cries echoed as he struggled to stay afloat. For a terrifying moment, his head dipped underwater, and his tiny legs kicked frantically.
“Leo!” Libby’s eyes widened with alarm, and she leapt into action. With motherly instincts in full force, she scooped him up in her arms and pulled him out of the water. The poor little one coughed and sputtered, his soaked fur clinging to his trembling body as he nestled into her chest.
Leo’s whimpers of fear were heartbreaking, and Libby nuzzled him lovingly, trying to comfort him. She licked his damp fur and chirped soothingly, as if to say, “I’m sorry, my baby. I’ll be more careful.”
