The early morning was still quiet when tiny baby Jasmine woke up. The room was cool and peaceful, but Jasmine did not feel peaceful at all. She looked around with sleepy eyes and noticed that Mommy wasn’t holding her. Her little face immediately became worried.

Soon, Mommy brought Jasmine to her bright yellow bathtub for her morning routine. The warm, shallow water was prepared carefully, and Mommy stayed right beside her the entire time. At first, Jasmine sat quietly, looking around the tub with a confused expression. She seemed tired and lonely, as if she had woken up too early and didn’t understand why she wasn’t cuddled up in Mommy’s arms.

Then Jasmine suddenly began to cry.

“Eeeeh! Eeeeh!”

Mommy looked at her. “What’s wrong, little Jasmine?”

Jasmine stretched both tiny arms toward her mother and cried louder. Her sleepy face turned into an angry little expression. She didn’t want to sit alone in the yellow bathtub. She wanted Mommy’s attention immediately.

“Mommy is right here,” Mommy said softly.

But Jasmine wasn’t convinced.

“AAAAH! Eeee!”

Her cries echoed around the room. She kicked her tiny feet gently in the shallow water and reached toward Mommy again. It was obvious that Jasmine had some very big feelings that morning.

Mommy stayed calm and close, making sure Jasmine was safely supported and never left unattended in the water. She gently placed a reassuring hand near her and spoke in a soft voice.

“You’re safe, sweetheart. Mommy isn’t going anywhere.”

Jasmine continued crying for a little while. She looked at Mommy with big watery eyes, almost as if she were asking, “Why aren’t you picking me up?”

Mommy smiled and gently comforted her. “I know you want Mommy. It’s okay to be upset.”

Slowly, Jasmine’s cries began to change. The loud screams became little whimpers. She looked at Mommy’s face and reached for her hand. Mommy let Jasmine hold her finger while continuing to stay beside her.

That tiny connection seemed to make a difference.

Jasmine stopped kicking and became quieter. She leaned slightly toward Mommy, finally realizing that she wasn’t alone. Mommy was right there beside her, watching carefully and keeping her comfortable.

“There you go, my little girl,” Mommy whispered.

After her morning bath was finished, Mommy carefully lifted Jasmine out of the tub and wrapped her in a soft, warm towel. Jasmine immediately snuggled against her chest.

Her angry expression disappeared.

The lonely little monkey who had been screaming moments earlier was now quiet and sleepy. She rested her head against Mommy and gave one tiny satisfied sound.

Mommy gently stroked her back. “See? Mommy was here the whole time.”

Jasmine slowly closed her eyes.

The early morning had started with loneliness, tears, and a dramatic bathtub tantrum, but it ended with warmth and comfort. Safe in Mommy’s arms, Jasmine finally relaxed, feeling reassured that she wasn’t alone after all.
