The morning was peaceful until a surprisingly loud cry echoed through the room.
Little newborn baby monkey Max was lying on a soft blanket, his tiny body looking so fragile beneath his oversized round head.
His enormous round eyes were wide open.
Something had clearly made him unhappy.
At first, he made a tiny little whimper.
“Eee… eee…”
Mom looked over immediately.
“What’s wrong, sweetheart?”
Max stared at her with those huge, innocent eyes.
Then suddenly—
“WAAAAAAH!”
His tiny arms began waving wildly.
His little legs kicked against the soft blanket as he launched into a dramatic tantrum.
Mom was surprised.
“Oh my goodness! What happened to my little baby?”
Max’s mouth opened wide as he cried even louder.
He looked toward Mom, then toward the bottle sitting nearby.
Mom quickly understood.
“Are you hungry?”
Max answered with another enormous cry.
Dad peeked into the room and couldn’t help smiling.
“Those big eyes certainly make his tantrum look dramatic.”
Mom gently moved closer and stroked Max’s tiny head.
“I know you’re upset, little one.”
But Max wasn’t ready to calm down.
His round eyes filled with tears as he waved his tiny arms toward Mom.
He wanted to be held.
Mom carefully picked him up and held him against her chest.
For a moment, Max continued crying.
Then he heard Mom’s gentle voice.
“It’s okay. Mommy’s here.”
His cries slowly became quieter.
Mom softly rubbed his back and gently rocked him.
Max’s enormous eyes blinked up at her.
His little fingers wrapped around Mom’s shirt.
The tantrum was beginning to disappear.
Mom offered him his warm bottle.
Max eagerly drank while staying safely cuddled in her arms.
With every sip, his tiny body relaxed more.
Dad smiled.
“That was quite a performance.”
Mom laughed softly.
“He just needed some comfort.”
After finishing his bottle, Max gave a tiny satisfied sigh.
His giant round eyes slowly became sleepy.
Mom kissed his forehead.
“You can have big feelings, sweetheart. Mommy will always help you calm down.”
Max rested his oversized little head against her shoulder.
His tiny hands remained wrapped around her shirt.
Within minutes, he drifted peacefully to sleep.
The room became quiet again.
Mom looked down at her sleeping baby and smiled.
Only a few minutes earlier, those huge round eyes had been filled with tears and frustration.
Now they were peacefully closed.
For such a tiny newborn, his emotions could feel enormous.
But with a warm bottle, gentle patience, and Mommy’s loving embrace, even the biggest tantrum could end in the sweetest little cuddle.
