The late afternoon sun cast long shadows across the backyard as chaos erupted. Baby Daniela, a sweet and fragile monkey, was happily playing near a soft patch of grass when out of nowhere, Dee Dee, the rowdy and jealous monkey, stormed in with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
Before anyone could react, Dee Dee lunged at Daniela, grabbing her tiny arm and dragging her roughly across the ground. Daniela let out a sharp, terrified scream, her small body struggling against Dee Dee’s iron grip.
“Stop it, Dee Dee!” Mom shouted, running toward the pair. Her heart pounded as she saw Daniela’s terrified face and the dirt and scrapes covering her tiny frame.
Dee Dee, oblivious to the danger he was causing, yanked harder, trying to assert his dominance. Daniela’s cries grew louder, and she began to flail in desperation.
Mom reached them just in time. With one swift motion, she grabbed Dee Dee by the scruff of his neck and pulled him away. “Enough!” she yelled, her voice firm and commanding. Dee Dee squirmed, but her strong grip left no room for argument.
Turning her attention to Daniela, Mom scooped her up, cradling the trembling baby against her chest. “Oh, my sweet girl,” she whispered, inspecting Daniela’s tiny body for injuries. A few scrapes and bruises were visible, but thankfully, nothing too serious.
Dee Dee was placed in a timeout, sulking in the corner as he realized he had crossed the line. Meanwhile, Daniela clung to her mom, her soft cries slowly subsiding.
Mom kissed Daniela’s forehead. “You’re safe now, baby. No one will hurt you again.”
Daniela buried her face in Mom’s chest, finally feeling the comfort and safety she needed.
