Lito Loses It on the Floor

Baby Monkey Lito had been having a perfectly peaceful morning—curled in Mom’s arms, warm, cozy, and completely satisfied. But everything changed the moment Mom gently placed him on the floor. To Lito, this wasn’t a simple move. This was betrayal.

The second his tiny feet touched the ground, Lito froze. His big eyes widened, his lips trembled, and a storm began boiling inside his tiny chest. Mom moved only a few steps away to prepare his milk, but to Lito, she had gone miles. And that was absolutely unacceptable.

Within seconds, Lito threw his head back and let out the first cry—
“WEEEEEHHH! WEEEEHHH!”
High-pitched, shaking, and full of outrage.

He screamed so hard his little belly tightened with every breath. He kicked his legs, slapped his palms on the floor, and rolled from side to side like the world had just ended. Mom tried to calm him with her gentle voice from across the room, but Lito refused to be comforted. Words were useless. Only being held would fix the disaster.

His cries grew louder and louder, echoing through the house. His face scrunched into a little red tomato. Tears slid down his cheeks as he reached both hands toward Mom, demanding she return immediately.

Mom quickly came back, kneeling beside him.
“Lito, sweetheart, Mommy’s right here. I just needed one second.”

But Lito didn’t care about explanations. He launched himself toward her, gripping her leg like a tiny koala. The moment she lifted him into her arms, he finally stopped screaming. His breathing softened. His fists uncurled. His face buried into her chest with a long, shaky whimper.

Mom rubbed his back gently.
“There you go, baby… Mommy’s not leaving you.”

And just like that, the storm inside Lito faded, replaced with soft little sniffles and the comfort he’d been begging for all along.
